Films: The Twilight People (1972)

Summary: It's time to rip off H.G. Wells for a bit. In this case, there isn't a big enough House of Pain for the man who crafted these poor freaks of un-nature.

History: Dr. Gordon lived on a secluded jungle island trying to perfect his craft. That craft being an army of half-animal people for a supposed "super race". Alas, none of them particularly enjoyed being locked up all day, so they all jumped at the opportunity when some captive humans freed them. But now they have Gordon and a group of hunters to worry about.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Ayesa is punished for her predatory behavior by getting bludgeoned to death by Kuzma’s rifle. Most of the mutants are unfortunately gunned down in a battle with the hunters. Dr. Gordon is stabbed to death by his vengeful mutated wife, Marie. The only mutant survivor is Darmo, who flies off into the distance.

Powers/Abilities: Darmo is capable of extensive flight.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2-First off, their costumes are quite laughable, looking like second-rate Halloween fodder. On the other hand, most of them are actually quite nice, so long as you don't try and hurt them.

Trivia: This isn't actually the first time director Eddie Romero tried his hand at mutants on islands. He previously did 1959's "Terror is a Man".
